Iron Warriors [Bojan] vs Ultramarines [Zbilj]
On the far ends of the Ultramar sub-sector, in the Veridia system, a distress beacon activated in one of the mines on planet Lemane.
Lemane, mining planet near Calth, is important for Imperium and Ultramarines because most of the Ceramite comes from it. First to respond to the distress call was a personal fleet of the Ultramarines Primarch himself, Roboute Guilliman, who was on Calth overseeing new generation of scouts.
When Mcragge’s Honour arrived, Guilliman and a battalion of marines deployed on the location of distress call they didn’t found no one alive. But there was only the smell of chaos taint in the air. But not long they found proof of it a big chaos gate in the distance appeared.
Guilliman had a simple plan – use the cover of the sleeping quarters for miners and come from behind the gate and destroy it. But little did he know that the gate was defended by the Iron Warriors and undivided chaos forces.
Guilliman and his marines moved fast, trying to reach the main hall and use it as a cover so that they could have a better position and firing lines on the chaos gate.
But the chaos forces would just sit and wait for that to happen behind the the gate there was hiden a squad of legionnaires helping the chaos sorcerer to call in reinforcements. And reinforcement they got a squad of cultists taint by the touch of chaos almost turned in the demons they worship, three Helbrutes, a squad of Obliterators and a Kytan, demon engine of Khorn. All led by a Lord Discordant.
Giant Kytan came from the cover of the sleeping quarters . The presence of giant demon engine would make ordinary humans flee in terror but not the space marines of the Ultramarine chapter.
A squad of devastator equipped with Lascannons tried to take a cover in a ruined building, but the shots from Kytan killed three of them. On the other flank a squad of devastator armed with heavy Grav-cannons peaked around the corner to provide the support to the squad infiltrators, but was cut to the ground by the heavy barrage of shots from squad of Obliterators.
The main spearhead of the battalion led by Guilliman himself was cought up in a fight with one Helbrute and Lord Discordant. Quick reaction from the Squad of Eradicators stopped the Helbrute in the track. But that was not enough for the Lord Discordant he charged in to the main battle line of Ultramarines.
With the support of squad of Obliterators that droped from the orbit, he charged and attacked the Librarian and chief Apothecary of the 4th company. A squad of Bladeguard veterans tried to aid them but was charged by the Obliterators. Apothecary was killed in place but the Librarian heavily wounded stood his ground.
Guilliman saw the opportunity that if they succeed to defeat the Kytan, they may have a chance to hold of forces on the flank. He ordered the squad of infiltrators to redeploy and try to come behind enemy lines and call reinforcement. Also, he ordered the two Redemptor Dreadnoughts to focus their fire on the Kytan.
They fired everything at it and only chipped his armour in a few places, but the demonic engine of Khorn seemed like he enjoined the challenge they provided to him. He charged them, but with the support of chaplain, Dreadnoughts fired at him while the huge mechanical beast charged them.
One shot from plasma canon hit the already weakened part of the armour of Kytan and made an opening on it where it showed the fragile flesh parts of the demon engine. One swing of its axe destroyed the Dark Angels Dreadnought that was with Ultramarines on Guillimans battalion.
The other Dreadnought survived, but only because he blocked the swing with his plasma canon. While the axe was grinding his arm, he saw an opportunity, and with the last straw of strength, he swung his arm in the crack in the Kytans armour. The demon engine fell slain. There was still a chance for victory, and Guilliman was ready to take it.
He ordered his personal guard to assist the Librarian with the Lord Discordant. Chaplain helped the squad of surviving devasteros and a squad of tactical marines to also support the left flank and Librarian efforts to stop the Lord Discordant. While Guilliman aided by the squad of assault Terminators and marched up to the gate to try and destroy it.
He charged at the warpsmith that held the narrow pass to the gate he swung Emperors sword and cut the head of traitor. As the body of warpsmith hit the ground , Guilliman received good news left flank killed Lord Discordant. They shot everything at him but the demonic armour repelled most of the shots.
Librarian was sick of it and with the all strength he had in his wounded body peirces the chest of the Lord Discordant killing him in the place. But that was all the luck Ultramarines had that day.
Guilliman all alone was charged from three sides . On front, a squad of legionnaires and from the side chaos sorcerer and a Helbrute. They shot everything in him but the armor of fate endured it, but the overwhelming brute force of Helbrute almost killed him, knocking him in the ground . When Terminator Sergeant saw that he charged his squad, killing chaos sorcerer and Helbrute.
Chaplain ordered the retreat while Terminators transported back with Guilliman to the Mcragge’s Honour. They provided support to them while they were boarding the Tunderhawk dying on duty to protect wounded Primarch.
